Eclipse

Eclipse, originally uploaded by cYrus!.

This photo came up on a search I did for 'death flower'. Another person within my community has just died, and it feels like a time of transformation, and letting go some more.
This photo has a mixture of dark and light. There is a feeling of a group of people holding the light. I sometimes find the light of my inspiration comes after a journey into the dark.

Lembongan

Our first morning in Lembongan (a small island off the East coast of Bali) was dramatic. Apparently every two years they have mass cremation ceremonies for all those who have died during that period. The bodies are exhumed and depending on the economic status of the families, various kinds of elaborate ceremonies are held. Relatives from all over Indonesia and Borneo come to Lembongan for these important ceremonies. That morning was the day after the last day, and all the relatives were going home. It was six a.m., and we thought (in our ignorance) that they were all going home after partying all night. You could clearly hear all the garrulous chatter, over the sound of the waves and boat engines.

Clouds

I've not been able to add anything new to my blog because I've been grieving the sudden and premature death of my dear sister, Peta. She died in her sleep. She was in good health, and had completed many things. Her body was peaceful. This was the sky as we drove to Adelaide to farewell her. The sky was full of these hyper clouds, quite bizarre. Her burial was on the day of the biggest Solar Eclipse of this century. Apparently big Spirits are born and die at the time of eclipses. They are very disruptive.
