Alfred Stieglitz

I read an article about Alfred Stieglitz in the Australian yesterday, there's going to be a show of his in Sydney later in the year, I was attracted initially to him, because he was Georgia O'Keefe's husband, and I find her such a remarkable painter, her erotic works of nature. Then I looked into her husband's photographs, I just googled his name and 'images', so I still don't know a lot about him, except for the article and the images I've just been exploring. I realise that he is amazing too, that you can see how his photography has influenced so many other artists, including artists that are better known than him, to the likes of me anyway. (eg Ansel Adams).

'colour dive'

I found this photograph as I was going through google reader today, the other photos here are also intensely colourful and evocative, but this one has that magic moment quality..the clouds, the ocean, the diver, looks slightly hesitant almost. Its like a dream scene, so perfect, slightly quirky and the colours almost bring tears to my eyes.

rain coming..

I took this shot a few days ago from our terrace, the rain was moving in, the clouds above the radiant sunset were filled with rain..such a blessing! Its almost been like tropical Melbourne. People are smiling, the moisture in the air refreshing and nourishing!

Clouds

I've not been able to add anything new to my blog because I've been grieving the sudden and premature death of my dear sister, Peta. She died in her sleep. She was in good health, and had completed many things. Her body was peaceful. This was the sky as we drove to Adelaide to farewell her. The sky was full of these hyper clouds, quite bizarre. Her burial was on the day of the biggest Solar Eclipse of this century. Apparently big Spirits are born and die at the time of eclipses. They are very disruptive.
